Project Description
Photographing dance is about telling the story.
In a full professional dress rehearsal, the lighting, posing and settings are predetermined and usually perfect. As a photographer, it is then my responsibility to capture key moments without prompting, and compose each image to convey the emotion and intent of the storyline. Including or excluding other dancers, scenery, and placement in the image frame are key compositional elements that must be decided upon without interrupting or being seen during the rehearsal.
